Movie Review: Bachelor Party fails to impress

With ample romance, action and comedy thrown in and also ornamented with loads of punchy one-liners, sizzling item songs and dramatic gun shots, Bachelor Party, directed by Amal Neerad failed miserably in creating an impact. The film stars Asif Ali, Indrajith, Rahman, Kalabhavan Mani and Vinayakan.
Bachelor Party is 'inspired' by Exiled, the 2006 Hong Kong action thriller.

The plot revolves around a gang of friends and their life of crime, deceit, and double crossing. The gang consisting of Toni (Asif Ali), Geevar (Indrajith), Benny (Rahman), Ayyappan (Kalabhavan Mani) and Fakeer (Vinayakan), all wear thick jackets that make them look like astronauts, denim pants and assorted accessories.

It comes into light that the youngest member of the gang, Toni, has been getting his friends into trouble from their childhood days. Now, he has split his friends into two groups; the first two should throw him in front of their gang lord boss to protect their own lives and the other two are committed to saving Toni.

A love story fits somewhere in between. Although the story line and plot are weak, the actors have done a commendable job. Prithviraj is wasted in a small role, and so are Remya Nambeeshan and Padmapriya who have just one item number each to talk about.

The two item numbers performed by Remya Nambeeshan and Padmapriya just add to the list of oddities in this film.

In the end, we are left with the feeling that director has needlessly stretched a weak plot and has woven it into a film which fails to create any impression except that of boredom.
